Here is a vintage Japanese pencil case released by Union in the 1980s.
The pencil case opens on both sides with magnet closing devices to fasten the opening covers to the main pencil case.
VINTAGE PENCIL CASE CONDITION: The item is in new and unused condition. The front and the back of the pencil case have retained their original colors and most of the glossiness. There are some surface scratches and marks. Also, due to aging and handling, there is some wear. Some areas of the hard pink plastic side has discolored from aging. Due to storage, there are some impression marks on one side.
